At Williamstown GP Group we are committed to providing you and your family with the highest quality of healthcare. Our main priority is your health and wellbeing.

Opening Hours and After-Hours Care

Williamstown GP Group is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:30am – 6pm, Wednesday’s 8:00am – 5:30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12pm. We recommend you book with our clinic, either through our website or by calling our reception team. We always attempt to accommodate walk-ins but cannot always guarantee that you will be able to see a doctor. Our patients can receive care out of these hours with the Doctor Doctor service. All phone calls out of hours are directed to this service and Williamstown GP Group encourages patients to contact this service provider on 13 26 60.

Dr Jeff Farrow, MD FRACGP, (Male GP) | Special Interest in aviation medicine. Dr Farrow is semi retired and only offers aviation medical assessment and locum covers as needed

Dr Maryam Hosseini, MD FRACGP, (Female GP) | Special Interests include women’s health, antenatal care, family planning, pediatrics, mental health, skin cancer medicine.

Dr Masoud Hakimzadeh, MD FRACGP, (Male GP) | Special Interests include general medicine, men’s health, WC/TAC, skin care and cancer, geriatric medicine.

Billing

Patients who are 13 Years and under, over 67 years (with a Pension Card) and DVA card holders may be bulk billed for consults under the MBS. There are procedures and consultations that may require private billing if it is not covered under the MBS, but you will be notified of any costs prior to any fulfilment. Standard fees are $96.05 for a standard consult (with medicare rebate, out of pocket cost is $51). Long consult fees are $187.10 (with medicare rebate, out of pocket cost is $100). Patients with a concession card (Health Care Card) will pay $80.05 (out of pocket $35) for a standard consult and $142.10 (out of pocket $55) for a long consult. Saturday fees are $104.50 for standard consults and $200 for long consults. All visits on Saturdays incur an out-of-pocket fee, including for patients holding a pension or health care card, or children.

Communication Policy

When contacting the clinic, you may be required to provide identifying information depending on the nature of the call. Our doctors are generally unable to take phone calls from patients, but reception staff will be more than happy to assist you in your query if possible; otherwise, we can take a message and communicate it to the doctors. Any emails can expect a response within two working days. The contractor doctors do not accept requests for clinical information by email, as we are unable to properly assess and examine your condition that way.

Patient Personal Health Information

Patients are entitled to request a copy of their medical records. If you would like to request your previous records to be sent to our clinic, please come into reception where we will supply you with a form consenting to the release of information. If you would like to request your medical record from Williamstown GP Group at any time, please call and speak to our receptionists. The practice may charge an admin fee for transfer of medical records, which can be discussed upon a request.

Follow Up

At Williamstown GP Group, we value your health and act upon that through the management of results. This can include radiology and pathology. Our doctors will aim to give you a rough estimate regarding the processing time for results, but you are encouraged to clarify with the service provider what the estimated time frame is. Any results that are deemed medically urgent will be passed on to the doctors and we will attempt to establish communication with the patient immediately. It is however your responsibility to book in a follow up appointment with your doctor roughly after results are expected, to have them discussed in detail with your doctor. Follow-up consultations to discuss results will incur a consultation fee, charged according to the length of time spent discussing the results.

Complaints and Feedback

Williamstown GP Group appreciates any feedback so we can continue to provide the highest standard of health care. If you have any complaints or suggestions, you can email us or hand in your written feedback to reception. All complaints and suggestions will be passed to our Medical Director and dealt with appropriately. Our friendly receptionists are also there if you have any concerns or complaints during your visit with us.
